• Fine Art

  You might think of fine arts as being purely a trip to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa, but our minor program starts with an overview of all its applications – architecture, ceramics, literature, printmaking and the rest – and then allows you to specialize. Courses cover the psychology of fine art as well its history and its progenitors. Note that music is covered initially but those wishing to specialize in it should apply for the dedicated music program.

• Archaeology

  Knowing where we came from often provides a useful comparison to where we’re going to and here at TIU we’re particularly aware of this. Our major programs look firmly at the present and into the future, so our archaeology course aims to give you the opposing perspective, using practical historical and archaeological analysis to look at periods in history relevant to your major.

• Economics

  It may be the root of all evil, but money is also what makes the world go round as the saying goes and today’s world even more so. Our minor program covers the core concepts of supply and demand, micro- and macroeconomics before looking in particular at the give-and-take relationship between economics and such diverse fields as family, politics, health, media and death. Emphasis can be made to its applications around your major subject if applicable.

• Psychology

  What we think determines what we do and that in turn effects how others react. Our program concentrates on how it can be applied to your major. You’ll look at the psychology of the workplace and the workmate.
  

• Modern languages

  Our languages faculty offers its programs as both major and minor options. See its description on the majors page for more information.
  

• Using Computers

  Like it or not, computers are a part of our life now and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. This program shares some of its content with the software development major looking at the trends in the technology and type of applications being developed today (from the word processor to VOIP\Skype) and seeing how to make the most of them \ where the next innovations will come from.
  

• Music

  Music is the food of love, so we play on. Our program looks at both the history of music and the trends in music today. It also has a compositional element so covering the technology and techniques in creating and producing music today.
